Calling all Pasefika dancers aged 16 to 21!
Do you want to create a short dance about your life in lockdown? We’ll be selecting the three best dance works that will each be awarded a NZD500 Prezzy card and an opportunity to work with dancers from Black Grace towards developing your choreography into a short dance film to be published on The Guerrilla Collection website.
The dance must be to the track New Land by Neil Ieremia and can be any style of your choice. It may be a solo or group dance that includes any other member(s) of your bubble.
How to enter
- Download the track New Land by Neil Ieremia from this page
- Choreograph and film your dance, between 45 seconds – 1 minute

Email your video submission to guerrilla@theguerrillacollection.nz with the following information:
- Full Name
- Date of Birth
- School/University and year level, or profession (if applicable)
- Contact phone number
- Postal address
Prize
The three winning submissions will be awarded with a NZD500 Prezzy Card, a Guerrilla Collection goodie bag and an individual Zoom meeting with a mentor to develop your work before re-filming.
The final works will then be edited and published on The Guerrilla Collection website.
Submission guidelines
- Applicants must be aged 16 - 21
- The dance can be any style of your choice
- Must be your own choreography
- The dance must be between 45 seconds – 1 minute long
- The dance may be a solo or group dance (counted as one submission, please observe Covid-19 alert levels and only dance with your bubble)
- All entries must be received by 11:59pm 21 September 2021. Entries received after this date will not be accepted.
