Lucas Taeiloa

The Guerrilla Collection ran a dance competition in September calling all Pasefika dancers aged 16 - 21 to create a short dance about their life in lockdown.

One of the three 2021 Lockdown Dance Competition winners was Lucas Taeiloa.

My name is Lucas Taeiloa. I am 17 years old and I currently attend Massey High School. I moved here to New Zealand from Tonga 3 years ago to pursue my dreams as a dancer. Dancing is a great passion of mine as it is my escape from everything.

My mental health during lockdown was the focal point in my dance.

As a winner of the Lockdown Dance Competition Lucas received:
- $500 Prezzy card
- Online mentoring session with dancers from Black Grace to develop dance film
- A limited edition The Guerrilla Collection T-Shirt
- Certificate of achievement
