Vela Manusaute

Vela, writer/director, came to New Zealand in 1979. He was the first Niuean to graduate from Toi Whakaari New Zealand Drama School in 1996. Vela is a joint recipient of the ‘New Generation Award’ in 2014. He has just arrived from ImagineNATIVE film festival in Toronto for the inclusion of his short film The Messiah.
