Kento Giebel-Date

Kento is of Japanese and German descent and grew up in Japan and Taiwan. He first discovered dance at Taipei American School at the age of 14. During high school he attended the 2014 American Dance Festival, performing in Deca Dance by Ohad Naharin as performed by Batsheva Dance Company. Kento completed 3 years of training at the New Zealand School of Dance, graduating with a Diploma in Dance Performance in 2017. Black Grace’s most recent full-length work, Crying Men, marked Kento’s professional debut.
