Keana Shantelle Ngaata

(Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Apa)

Of Cook Island and Maori descent, Keana grew up in Wellington and began dancing from a young age at Hutt City Dance Centre. Keana studied at Unitec, graduating in 2017 with a Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts majoring in Contemporary Dance. Since graduating, Keana has worked with Atamira Dance Company, performing in Behind the Canvas as part of the 2018 Hou Series. Black Grace’s most recent full-length work, Crying Men, marked Keana’s professional debut.
